Position Summary
Ragle Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager to lead our shop and field mechanic teams and oversee the maintenance and repair of our heavy construction equipment fleet.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for developing the people, systems, and processes needed to keep equipment safe, reliable, and available for field operations. The ideal candidate combines strong heavy diesel equipment knowledge with proven leadership skills and the ability to create accountability, improve maintenance processes, and effectively communicate between Company leadership and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, schedule, develop, and manage shop and field mechanics
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide coaching, training, and accountability
- Coordinate shop workload and dispatch field mechanics based on equipment and project priorities
- Oversee preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for a large heavy construction equipment fleet
- Support maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, work order processes, and equipment maintenance controls
- Utilize maintenance tracking systems and KPIs to monitor repairs, downtime, equipment availability, and performance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair histories, and required reporting
- Use maintenance data to support repair-versus-replace decisions and equipment planning
- Manage parts ordering and inventory to reduce equipment downtime
- Oversee shop and yard safety, organization, and housekeeping
- Monitor maintenance costs and support budget management across projects and operations
- Communicate equipment priorities, maintenance needs, and operational challenges between leadership, field teams, and mechanics
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve maintenance processes, efficiency, accountability, and fleet reliability
- Ensure compliance with Company safety policies, procedures, and applicable requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs
- 5+ years of experience in heavy diesel equipment maintenance and repair
- Previous supervisory or management experience leading mechanics is required
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Experience managing both preventive maintenance and equipment repair operations
- Demonstrated experience developing or improving maintenance systems, processes, scheduling, tracking, or reporting
- Working knowledge of heavy equipment manufacturers such as CAT, John Deere, Bobcat, Komatsu, or similar
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both field personnel and Company leadership
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
- Experience with CMMS, work order, or fleet maintenance management systems
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous maintenance leadership experience within heavy civil construction
- Primary work location is 9832 Oak Grove Road, Fort Worth, TX 76140
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Additional hours, evenings, or weekends may be required based on equipment and project needs
- Travel to jobsites throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area may be required
- Ability to work in both shop and field environments around heavy construction equipment
